July 20 Meet at Lindon + County Information

Our last dual meet of the season is this Saturday, July 20 at the Lindon pool (Lindon Aquatics Center, West 60 North Street, Lindon, UT) .  7:30 am warm-ups, 8:00 am meet. We will do sign-ups at practice on Friday.  A few things to be aware of with this meet:
1) There is little shade at this pool.  It is a good idea to bring a tent or umbrella and lots of water and snacks.
2) This pool does not allow diving into their shallow end.  The timers will move to the shallow end whenever there is a 25 (one length of the pool) race and allow the swimmers to dive in from the deep end.  The only time this is not possible is with all the 10 and Under relays.  They will have the swimmers who start on the shallow end of the pool get in the water to push off the wall when their teammate touches the wall.  If you have a child who is 10 or younger, please let them know that this is how things will run at this meet.  We will try to tell them as well.
3) Be sure to check in with me when you arrive.


COUNTY INFORMATION:
Once I have the times from this meet, I will look at your child's best times and see which meet they qualify for.  The county has 3 championship meets depending on your child's times.  This allows for kids to be challenged (as they swim against kids comparable to them) and also allows for more kids to place and receive awards.  I will email each family at the beginning of next week to let you know where your kids will swim.

Bronze- July 27 am at Pleasant Grove (all 6 and unders plus the slower 1/3 of the county)
Silver- August 2 pm at Lindon (middle 1/3)
Gold- August 3 am at Lindon (top 1/3)

END OF SEASON BBQ-
To celebrate all your child's improvements this summer, we will have a swim team pool party/BBQ on August 13th at 6:00 pm.  I will send out an email next week with the dinner prices. All swimmers (regardless of if they swam at any meets or county) will receive an award at the party,County awards will be passed out as well at this time.  This is an event for the whole family.  There will be swimming after the awards until 9 pm.
