Swim Meet June 17

We have our first dual meet this Saturday at Spanish Fork.  Warm-ups begin at 7 am and the meet will start at 7:30.  If your child is really nervous for a meet, you may want to have them wait until our home meet next week where all our coaches will be making sure kids know where to go.  If you want to come try this meet, awesome!  This meet will run on a computer system, which means that I need all sign ups by Thursday so I can submit them electronically.  There cannot be an additions once we submit the entries.  Swimmers are allowed to swim up to 3 individual events and 2 relays.  I will be on deck during practice on Thursday to have the kids sign up for their events if they would like to do it in person.  You can also fill out this google form to sign them up.

Swim Meet 101 (For all the newbies)
Plan on coming to the meet by 7 am.  Check in with the coaches (usually on the side of the pool).  We will write your child's event numbers on their hand.  You listen for the event numbers and get them to the bullpen (usually rows of chairs or benches) and someone will walk them over to their assigned heat and lane.  Then you cheer like crazy when they swim.  Stay out of the way of the timers and stroke judges.  Your child should check in with their coaches after they swim for any corrections.

Bring plenty of extra towels and blankets.  Spanish Fork tends to be windy in the early morning hours and the kids get cold.  As the morning progresses, the sun comes out and it can get hot.  Bring shade and water.

Please let coaches know if we can help you with anything. We want this to be a good experience for the kids.
