Nearing the End of the Season

Thanks for all those who came to the meet on Saturday, we had some great swims.  We should have all the ribbons from the past 4 dual meets, so if you haven't had a chance to pick up, come see me.  Ribbons go through 10th place, but we do have participation ribbons for those who didn't place in ribbon range.

There will not be practice on July 24 because of Pioneer Day.  Regular practice continues until July 27.

Championship Meets:
For those of you new to our league, the way the championship meets work is...
Each child who has swam in at least 2 meets is eligible for the county championships.  Now that all meets are over, I look up fastest times in each event.  Depending on times, your child can go to one of the three championships.  Because we are a rec league we want kids competing against kids around the same level so we have divided the meets into 3.  Bronze is on July 26.  All 6 and under swimmers as well as the lower 1/3 of times will go to this meet.  Silver is on July 28.  The middle 1/3 of times will go to this meet.  Gold is July 29.  The top 1/3 of times go to this meet.  Based on times, I will email you which meet your child is qualified for.  Swimmers can swim up meets (meaning they can go to a meet that is faster than their times), but they cannot swim down.  No B times are allowed at the Bronze meet.  If you have questions about how that works, please talk to me.  You will only get an email if your child has swam at 2 meets (meaning they are county eligible).

Thanks.
