Well, we have survived the first week and a half and are gearing up for our first swim meet. As I stated in the email, if your child is a first-timer or a little more timid this meet may not be the best experience for them because it will be long. Next Saturday the 22nd we will have another meet that will be at Riverside with a smaller team. This will be a great meet for the first timers/timid kids because I will have a lot of support staff and the kids are usually more comfortable at their home pool. PG has a rather large team which means that in order for swimmers to get to swim their 3 individual events it will take some time. Warm-ups begin at 7 am and the meet will start at 7:30. The address to the PG pool is 582 E 300 S, Pleasant Grove, UT 84062. I expect the meet to last about 4-5 hours. It is a good idea to pack lots of snacks, water, extra towels, blankets, stuff to do, and even camping chairs and shade. The coaches will be there to help as much as possible. Please make sure to check in with me when you get there. Sign-ups will happen at practice tomorrow. If you will not be at practice, please email me (christinewhatcott@gmail.com) asap what events your child would like to swim. I've got to get that info to the PG team by Friday around noon.
